Oh - yeah, you gotta bleed on it. [confidently! she's wearing her default outfit, so presumably she has gotten into her own box.] I know that sounds insane, but I promise I'm not pulling your leg.

[ karlach really is so fire-coded, huh ]

[ she's surprised, then concerned. she looks over at all 7' of karlach to see if she can spot the bleeding. ]

[she is the most fire-coded person ever, yeah. in fact, robin can see the fiery glow of something red in her chest, pulsing slow and faint, and sometimes - little bits of fire flickering in her hair. she's very warm close up.

if she's looking for bleeding, she can see the wrapped shoulder karlach's got. at least it doesn't look serious.]

I'm fine! One of the other guys got rowdy, but I'm used to that.

[sonorant]

[ oh, was that the metal sound? she's putting things together.

robin doesn't think that's fine? she frowns a little. a tiny bit. ]

You are saying you look for trouble.

[ it's not a censure as much as it is concern. ]

[help, she laughs!!]

I'm not. I've got enough trouble. It's up to and behind my eyeballs. I just mean some people here aren't as cool about the way I look as others, so they try to stab me with a plank.

[sonorant]

Oh.

[ oh, no. ]

That's horrible. I'm sorry. [ karlach doesn't seem to mind too much, but robin thinks that's terrible. ] They wouldn't know anything about you yet.

[ablazement]

[awww, robin! karlach's touched, actually, and it's clear on her face.]

Thanks. You'd think they'd stop and think, right? That's baby stuff, you learn to not judge by a cover when you're in diapers. [shrug.] But it's happened before. People get scared, and they don't act right.

I don't blame them. I can be pretty fucking terrifying when I want to be.

[sonorant]

[ she smiles a little. ]

I believe that, but it sounds to me you weren't trying or wanting to be in this particular moment. It speaks more of your character that you are willing to forgive.

[ablazement]

[her tail flicks back and forth in an almost wagging sort of way.]

Guess so. I don't see the point in holding a grudge over someone who took a swing because it felt like their only option, you know? If he came at me again, I wouldn't hesitate, because that's intent, and I'm no pushover.

But I haven't got the time to hold onto the little things to be mad at.

[ oh, that's cute. robin's smile widens. ]

You have the right to defend yourself. There are other things to feel and bigger things to feel strongly about.

Still, it's never easy to be judged based on appearances even if it doesn't get under your skin.

It's been a minute since someone's thought I looked off, honestly.

[she says this thoughtfully.]

Do you get that at all? The rude comments, I mean.

No one likes that kind of reminder.

[ she offers a small smile. ]

I've heard all sorts of comments about my appearance. I've become used to it, but sometimes, it's wearisome.

[ablazement]

It gets tiring, for sure. Even the nice stuff sometimes, right?

Bet a lady like you wants to hear anything but something about how you look, good or bad.

[sonorant]

I don't mind every now and then, but you're right. I'd prefer to hear something about my songs, more than anything else.

[ablazement]

[excitedly:] Oh, shit, songs? Do you sing? Can I listen sometime?

[sonorant]

[ oh, that's an adorable response. ]

Of course. I am happy to share my songs anytime. As long as I have my voice, I will sing for anyone who wants to listen.

[ablazement]

[she's just happy to be here, man, music is great. especially people who make music.]

Whenever you want, then. I know it's not the best time right this second, seeing as we're in a foggy nightmare. But that's really great, you've got to be so talented to make music.

[sonorant]

Sometimes, you need music to break through a fog. Even if it can't be heard, if the emotion can be conveyed... that's what I feel is more important.

We can save a small performance for another day.

[ablazement]
