[ robin gets it, especially with how everything ended. she waits until it looks like karlach is taking some kind of pause before she calls out: ]

[she's about to get right back into it when robin calls out, and she looks over her shoulder.

she looks upset, but just kind of... resigned about it? helpless on both sides. it sucks.]

Robin. [is all she can manage, because she's not sure what else to say. she doesn't know how to articulate everything that is bothering her, for the first time in... forever.]

[sonorant]

You don't have to stop for me.

[ despite how she called out to her. ]

But it was a lot, wasn't it? Much of it heartbreaking.

[ablazement]

Could use a break.

[she exhales.]

... Yeah. It's not really anybody's fault, but I'm so fucking mad about Ash. She deserved better.

[sonorant]

She did. I had hoped for something similar to Miss Kate, but I understand they likely thought they had more time.

[ it's a terrible situation all around. ]

She could have had an easier time.

[ than bleeding out to death. ]

[ablazement]

They probably thought they could handle her like me, I guess.

[so mathis wouldn't have to die, it's just.]

Poor girl. [she sounds absolutely miserable about this.] I love that kid. She'll be alright here, but she suffered so bad and I never wanted that for her.

[sonorant]

She has been suffering for so long. She deserved better than any of this.

[ she clasps her hands in front of her. ]

We'll have to welcome her as best as we can, to try and make better memories to outshine what happened.

[ it may be difficult since they're still not free of cults, but they can try. ]

[ablazement]

It won't be easy, but I believe in us.

[she rubs at her face.]

... It's going to be a rough few days. We're up on the end. Scary thought.

It is, but I think we have the things we need for a baseline. It's just how we get to our next step that we have to worry about.

I believe we'll pick a workable path.
