We know that the afflicted will return to kill if they aren't... stopped. [ Killed, basically. ] While the willful murder is more cruel, if it was for the sake of obtaining one of those curios in the swamp basement, then there's no reason for them to do it more than once.
As much as we hate to consider it, I think we should prioritise the afflicted, unless circumstances really change.

I'm not really all for this justice and whatever stuff either... it's pretty subjective. But if we have to do it, and the alternative is letting some crazy monsters run around...
It is a wretched cycle when this is supposed to be their first time performing these rituals. If enough of us die too soon, I was told they might try to summon more innocents for when they attempt their main ritual.
