There is nothing to like about these rituals. It is easy to see they don't care about anything unforeseen as long as the result gets them what they want.

If only it could be as straightforward as a fight. We would have our fate at hand.

It could be either. It’s only a guess. They said something about preferring to be overseers than sacrifices themselves, so it sounds like their cult isn’t the most forgiving.

For a collective that chooses mass bloodshed, that's not surprising, but I think most would prefer not to be sacrificed for any reason. Do you feel differently?

There are plenty who are willing to die for their cause.

I just meant that it seems like they're already on thin ice with the rest, so a warning like that wouldn't be so surprising. That sort of thing happens in history fairly often already.

I won't brush away the possibility, but I feel like more things would change if the cult at large suspected the three left more.

Most of my talks with them made it seem as if we'd be even more caged, if that were the case.

I see. Then we are lucky, in a way.
