[ their empty room... at least... it is clean... and aqua will keep bringing fresh flowers so long as she can find them, to brighten up the space.
she seats herself next to robin, and of course the first thing she will do is twine their arms and hands together. she hopes it can be a reassuring connection, where nothing is reassuring at all. ]
No. But... we'll have to be ready for when it does.
...I wish there were a way to help everyone. More than just words.
[ and though she'll continue to hang onto hope and kindness, she recognizes those things aren't concrete solutions to their predicament. ]
[ it's a comforting connection when all these past few couple weeks have been are a reminder about how easily they can be separated. she leans against aqua for a brief moment. ]
If words could keep everyone supported, I would be relieved. I am ready for it to be... of the same intensity in the following week.
[ although it is more like a grim expectation than truly being ready for it. ]
I don't know what else we can do right now either. As long as we can keep everyone from falling....
[ she rests her head gently against robin's, finding her presence comforting as always. ]
...It won't be any easier. But we can try to be there for each other. Nobody has to be alone in this.
...I know it may be difficult to feel hope right now, but I also know you won't give up on it. And neither will I.
[ so no matter how tired she is, or how heavy her heart feels... she will always have that reassurance. no matter where her friends are, she can draw on their connection when she finds herself lacking in strength. just as she borrows from robin, now, and hopes she can lend in return. ]
I have never backed down, and I do not intend to start.
[ she, like aqua, has been separated from someone she holds most dear, and if that is not enough to kick her down, this entire ritual set up won't. having a bleeding heart makes it difficult to be unaffected, however. ]
It is not hope I lack, but... a direction for which to take this hope.
[ she appreciates aqua's support always, but she wants a way to find more information in this ritual hellscape. ]
W1 SUNDAY
but this was a bad weekend! five deaths. five too many. robin is seated on her bed, looking as pensive as ever. ]
Aqua. This can't continue.

...All we can do is rely on the Overseers for now. At least, that's what it seemed like when I spoke with Famine earlier this week.
[ she'd asked them if there was anything that could be done, and of course, they'd said no. ]
It would be nice if we could help them, somehow.
